According to a survey of Department of Higher Education, about 18.9% of students do not meet the requirements and 31.8% of students need to practice more English.
The Vietnamese students are very good at grammar while they are still in school. However, they do not have many opportunities for practice, so the listening and speaking skills are weak and difficult to apply in real life.
Many students after graduation have very good reading skills, can write emails, documents easily, but when meeting with foreigners, they are faltered, unable to communicate fluently. This is the general situation of the majority of young people and this means that they miss many opportunities to work in the international environment.
